Employee Spotlight

We are still convinced that we have the best team for our Namify family. That point continues to be proven with this spotlight. Abbey’s uplifting personality and kindness towards others made us want to sit down with her and learn more about her journey here at Namify. 

What did you do before you came to work at Namify?

“I was a nanny for six years before this, so this was actually my first company job. The last family that I nannied for had two kids, but I’ve nannied for families with up to five children before. I have nannied for all different ages. (Newborns are my favorite age to care for!) I cared for a couple families in Utah and a couple in Arizona, which is where I’m from. I also have sixteen nieces and nephews, so I really love kids!”

Have you ever had other positions at Namify?

“Yes, I was the front desk receptionist. I worked in that position from the end of January to November and then I got the position that I’m in now, which is Accounts Receivable.”

What is your favorite Namify Memory?

“When I was the receptionist, I really enjoyed getting to know some of our clients. Even though I haven’t been up there for months, sometimes I’ll be passing by and they will call my name, so I get the chance to catch up with them and see how they are. Many of them knew that I recently got married and will ask me how everything went and how our cruise was. It is really sweet that many of them remember and care to ask.”

What has been your favorite project here at Namify?

 “It’s actually taking place right now. We are remodeling the show room and I’m really invested in it, since I was up in the front for so long. I heard people talking about that room all day long, so I have a lot of opinions on how we should remodel it.”

What is the best thing about working at Namify?

“I’ve met so many cool people, and I think that is definitely one of the best things about working here.”

What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

“I hang out with my husband. We love to watch movies, so we do that a lot. We also have game nights often with a few other couples and that’s super fun. We love to go outside too – when it’s not freezing! My husband and I just got married in September so it’s been about six months that we’ve been married and it’s been the absolute best!”

What kind of music do you listen to?

“I listen to everything. I’ve been in the mood for country music more than usual lately, and I have also been listening to Lauv.”

“My husband and I are also going to the Jonas Brothers Concert next month, and our seats are right by the stage. It was my valentine’s day present and it’s going to be so fun.”

Ladies, it is critical that you find yourself a man that will take you to a Jonas Brothers concert.

What is your favorite movie?

“Favorites are so hard, but I guess my current favorite is Little Women that just came out. I’m a sucker for movies that are set back in the day. It was just a feel good, women can do anything type of movie.”

What is the best place that you’ve traveled to?

“The West Indies. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and it was super cool. We went to an itty bitty island that most people haven’t heard of called Saint Lucia. It was so pretty and is exactly what you think of when you imagine the perfect island. The greenery and the beaches were amazing. We had the opportunity to visit an active volcano and bathe in the mud and mineral hot springs there. They also are known for their bananas and make a ton of things with them like banana ketchup which I was hesitant to try but after I did I wanted to take 20 bottles home with us!”

“ It was also cool to learn about their economy because it’s completely based on tourism. Gas was so expensive there, that it made me never want to complain about the gas prices here.”

How do you balance career and family?

“Basically all of my time after work is devoted to my family. Whether it’s with my husband, siblings, or nieces and nephews. Luckily, I feel that with the position that I have, I can go home and not have to really worry about work too much.”

What’s one piece of advice you would give others at Namify?

“Reach out to others outside of your department. There’s so many amazing people that work here and people to get to know. And that kindness goes a long way.”

Conclusion
